Cool New “Fashion” PCs from CES 2008

This afternoon, I was able to stop by the Microsoft Booth (or more like Microsoft Quadrant) here at CES to take a look at what Microsoft was showing off. There, I was able to check out a handful of brand new and very unique new PCs that are due to hit the market in 2008 or already on the market now. I took some shots of those PCs to share with you. I am also including some interesting tidbits about each of the PCs.

    dovella,

Please re-read the article you mentioned. It talks about Nick's recent post here about an prerequisite for installing SP1 hitting Windows Update this week. There will be a series of prerequisites needed for installing SP1 that will hit before SP1 is released.

The article *does not* mention anything about SP1 going into RTM just yet.

Please read Nick's post here for information on the upcoming prerequisites for SP1 (two more are on the way):

That Ego Signature thing is UGLY.

I must admit, Dell did a good job with the ONE. It has a much better look than Gateways all in one machine which looks like a giant heavy iRiver MP3 player with a mouse and keyboard.

I like the Sony VAIO LT it reminds me of my old Amiga :-)

Hey Brandon whats the cost of that anti-reflection technology on the Ego, if that could hit the mainstream that would be sweet.

I have a brightview notebook from HP, and the glossy screen really makes colors more vibrant.  I guess that would also mean that indoors I can save power by lowering the screen brightness... however outdoors my screen really sucks.

I believe Dell calls its glossy screens TrueLife, and every OEM has a slightly different name for the same thing.  Is this anti reflective screen actually something new?

    nice!

I see a lot of Apple design cues in these shots.  The Ego Signature was most definitely inspired by Apple's "clamshell" iBook.

That one from HP is really cool

blackbird 002... drooling, but it's gonna be one expensive machine!

newscientist2000, I will need to dig up some info on what they mean by "anti-reflection technology" for Ego Signature.

borisz and adrian, I too am drooling over the Blackbird 002.

As I asked above, I am really interested in which of these PCs folks would like to hear more about such as detailed blog posts, photos and video. Seems folks are leaning with the Blackbird or the Dell XPS One.

    Keep the comments coming!

Well, the reason I didn’t choose DELL is because I do not have any experience with their computers and HP I use for couple of years and I am really satisfied but also this one from image above look really cool and I would defiantly like to find how it works, so my pick would be HP Blackbird 002
